The Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Justice have reached a settlement with the drug maker Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, Inc., in an investigation into the marketing of a generic version of the erectile dysfunction drug Cialis.
The U. S. Food and Drug Administration will pay $6 million to resolve the allegations, the Justice Department said. The settlement will resolve allegations that Teva marketing the generic drug to treat erectile dysfunction.
In a statement to The Canadian Press the company said, "The Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Justice have reached a settlement with Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, Inc., in an investigation into the marketing of a generic version of the erectile dysfunction drug Cialis."
The company said it would take a $6 million settlement amount to resolve the allegations. The settlement will allow Teva to begin marketing a generic version of the drug, known as Cialis, for erectile dysfunction, the company said.
